*Position= TAX Programmer Location = Columbus, OHDuration = 8+ Months*

Interview Type:  *Skype or In Person.  To June 2015.*

*Skills:*
Developing *Visual Basic .Net applications Development environment is
Bisual Studio*
Proficient in *SQL (MS SQL Server)*
Experience with .Net frameworks
Communicates well with technical and non-technical teams
Ability to independently gather requirements and complete analysis and
design
Prior experience with* Agile/SCRUM development methodologies*

*Description:*
Under the direction of ODT, this resource will complete all assigned tasks
as designated by ODT.  All work will be completed at ODT’s job site within
the timeframes agreed to by the vendor and ODT in the project's project
plan.

*MARS Application:*
The MARS system tracks approximately 1.6 Billion dollars in annual revenue
related to the collection and administration of the Motor Fuel Tax.  This
system is written as a client-server application.  The Fat client front end
is written in VB 6.0 and runs in a Windows Terminal Server (Server 2003)
hosted environment.  The database is in* SQL Server 2005.*
The goal would be to review the system and make recommendations that can be
implemented to ensure system remain viable for several more years.

*CHAPPS (Check balancing) applications.*
This system is to collect data from several sources, support aggregation of
the data and data maintenance for reporting and historical data purposes.
The Ohio Department of Taxation’s Revenue and Accounting (RA) area must
balance all checks that are processed by the Department and deposit them
into correct bank accounts.  To do this, data must be analyzed across
multiple source systems.  Since these systems do not talk to each other,
the balancing process involving manual entering data from source systems’
reports into spreadsheets created by RA.


*The objectives of this project include:*
Import data from the source systems, rather than manually entering the data
into the new system.
Replace source systems that use MS Access databases
Eliminate source systems’ reports and reproduce some out of the new system
Provide various new reports
Automated balancing spreadsheets
