NET & SQL Application Developer

Location-Windsor CT.

Job Description:
Perform all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle, including problem
investigation, business analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and
support.  The ideal candidate would also be involved in supporting our
Client Service, Sales, and Marketing organizations and develop software to
support Client reporting, internal and external websites, and Marketing
tools.  The candidate may also be involved in supporting or Equity, Fixed
Income, and Funds back office processing streams.

The candidate should have strong technical skills with a focus on Microsoft
Technologies.  The candidate should possess excellent communication skills,
and hold a BS in Computer Science or similar curriculum.  Financial services
experience is desired but not required.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develop software for financial applications using Microsoft Technologies,
ASP.NET, C#/VB.NET, and SQL Server.
Candidate will be involved in longer term project implementation, in
addition to smaller project tasks.
The candidate will need to be able to work independently and within a small
team.
Candidate is expected to build a strong rapport with IT colleagues, business
users, and operations personnel.
Candidate must be flexible and have strong communication skills to
facilitate prompt problem resolution.

TECHNICAL KNOWLDEGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
BS Degree in Computer Science or similar curriculum.
Between 3-9 years of application development experience.
Strong Microsoft SQL experience required (MS SQL2008/2005).  At least 3
years of relational database experience.
At least 2 years working with Microsoft Development tools, including C#,
VB.NET, and/or ASP.NET.
Experience developing and supporting Client/Server technology.
Experience supporting job processing streams and scheduling environment is a
plus.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services preferred.
Experience with SS&C Technologies Client Reporting software Pages (
http://www.ssctech.com/productservices/client-reporting.asp) while not
required, would be a huge plus.
Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint for workflow application development,
while not required, is a plus.

BUSINESS KNOWLDEGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience developing financial applications and understanding financial
concepts is desired but not required.
Investment Management background is a strong plus.
Experience with supporting either Financial back office organizations or
Client Service, Sales and Marketing organizations and software would be a
strong plus.

Note
Performance tuning and troubleshooting, why you would use certain indexes
and why you wouldn’t, error handling, triggers, creating tables
