*Business Intelligence Developer*
*Location : Madison, WI*
*Duration : Long-term*
Our Business Intelligence solution project typically starts with our
Business Clients initiating a project in the form of a Project Charter a BRD
(Business Requirements Document). A Project Leader, BI Solution Designer
and a BI Architect are typically assigned. If the requirements need to be
refined, the BI Designer works with the Business Client. The BI Architect
may also be involved in this process.
The BI Architect then prepares a BI Strategic Architecture Document (SAD)
which describes the appropriate BI Architecture to be followed. The BI
Designer then designs a solution based on the proposed architecture. The
design deliverables typically include a Rough Cost Estimate, a summary of
the business requirements, a Logical Data Flow (in collaboration with the BI
Data Modeler), a BI Fact Qualifier, a BI Definitions Document, BI Design
Document/Data Flow, BI Lineage Document, BI Presentation Design Specs
document, BI Reports Design Specs document. Many of these documents are
created in collaboration with the BI Architect, the BI Data Modeler, the BI
Technical Lead and the BI Project Leader.
Primary Skill: Strong Business Intelligence Solution Designer
*--Requisition Comments--*le requires an experienced BI Designer with a
minimum of 5 years Business Intelligence experience. Must have BI Solution
Design experience with PC Insurance. Must have excellent communication
skills, and work well in a team environment. Knowledge of ETL tools such as
Informatica; database environments (Oracle, DB2); and reporting tools such
as Business Objects and SAS is a plus. Experience designed Business
Intelligence Predictive Analytic solutions is desired.
Candidates will collaborate with solution delivery team on project
deliverables and timelines.
Need candidates who can assist us with further developing the BI Solution
Designer role and who can and will share their experiences to help define
this role.
*Required Skills:*
· BI Solution Design experience with *PC Insurance*
· Demonstrated experience consulting with clients regarding refining
business information needs into project specific requirements.
· Interviews business users to obtain data requirements for new
analytic solutions.
· Solid knowledge of *BI solution design, applying BI architectural
patterns and BI data modeling*.
· Solid knowledge and understanding of *business intelligence
architectures and technologies and their use*.
· Designs conceptual and logical models for Business Intelligence
Solutions.
· Collaborates with other BI resources to ensure successful project
completion.
· Writes, develops, designs, implements and reviews BI design best
practices, BI design standards, adherence points, governance points and
process improvements.
· Experience in designing BI solutions to support reporting and
analysis.
· Knowledge of industry accepted design techniques including star
schemas
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong organizational skills multi-tasking skills
