Summary: Tomcat Application Specialist is responsible for the support, deployment, and enhancements of the technical and application infrastructures used to support and promote the organizational functions of our customer. This will include all application support and interaction with server support, database support, networking and telecommunications support and development teams to support the growing needs of the enterprise. Will support roughly 90-100 applications. They will be deploying Tomcat/Apache on Linux Servers in pre-production environment. This position is responsible for supporting, managing and implementing all internal and external applications used to support various business units. This position will function as the Tier 2 and 3 application support function for various applications. This role will ensure that established customer service and system availability targets are met. This position will require fundamental understanding of core bank processes and the technology involved in supporting those processes. Successful incumbent will also be responsible for providing 2nd level development support and interfacing with developers of various systems and applications. Responsible for deployment of application systems the implementation of efficient cost effective application solutions. Will analyze, design, implement, validate and document application solutions to help provide outstanding service to the businesses supported. This may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware technologies and tools. *Responsibilities:* Provide daily administration of core banking applications Monitor and maintain applications per defined availability guidelines Support and maintain configuration management for various applications Research and evaluate alternative solutions, and recommend the most efficient and cost effective solution Identify and resolve a broad range of problems that occur in production applications Serve as part of the Infrastructure Services Team in developing and implementing next generation banking systems architecture Support the backup and recovery strategy for various applications Proactively support capacity planning and disaster recovery aspects Create and maintain policies and procedures relevant for team and other IT areas Understand supported businesses and communicate in common terms Develop system administration standards and procedures to maintain consistent practices Provide direction and guidance to other systems analysts and IT team members Work with Client Services, Project Management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes (i.e. new, enhancements, or maintenance) for diverse development platforms, computing environments (i.e. host based, distributed systems, client server), software, hardware, technologies and tools *Experience & Qualifications*: 5-7 years in an IT role. 3-5 years in a technical support role. Some background in software development preferred Proficient at creating support documentation. Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills.
