·         Resource needs to be a combination of Database administrator and
database developer .  Java knowledge / Background is desirable.

·         This resource will be maintaining a product in mostly dev
environment. No production support needed at this point of time.

o    *SQL Server is critical and  Priority , but should also have good
knowdge in Oracle to be able to fill in for only  other DBA on the team. *

·         In addition to the administration activities , Will also be
reviewing code written by dev team and trying out admin features like
clustering in dev environment that will get rolled out to production.

·         NO H1Bs .

·         In office position in salt lake , UT area ,  NO TELECOMMUTE.

·         Resource cannot work from any other Optum office.

·         Open for Webex interview . Does not have to be in person as long
as the resource is ready to relocate.

·         They have tried to fulfill the position as FTE , but did not find
right combination of skills.

What Project/Projects will the candidate be working on while on assignment?
Integrated Claims Processor (ICP) and Advanced Clinical Editing (ACE)

This role will be the second of two DBAs servicing a large development team
consisting of approximately 70 people with half of those engineers residing
in India. There are 7 scrum teams operating in a scaled agile environment.
This role will not be on any one of those teams but will provide database
expertise, guidance, code review and code development to all the scrum
teams. However, the first project that this role will be a part of will be
with a small group of 3-4 engineers to benchmark and profile our
application on MS SQL server.

What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? (Please be
detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily
basis)

- Resident MS SQL expert for the product
- Backup for the Oracle DBA
- Collaborate with the development teams and produce database code to
support the application
- Make configuration and hardware sizing recommendations for product
performance baselines and specific client needs including database
replication, clustering and advising on disaster recovery plans
- Third level support for client issues related to the database (Mostly
during business hours. On average after hours support is only needed once
or twice a month and it is usually scheduled)
- Ideally this role would end up splitting its time between DBA
responsibilities and Java development. This is not a requirement but would
be nice to have.
