*Systems Engineer(SCOM)*
Location: Redmond, WA
Duration: 6 Months
*Job description:*
As a successful candidate you will work across the various AdCenter groups
including direct interaction with the product development team.
*Duties/Responsibilities:*
· Be a team member that works collaboratively and drives technical
solutions to issues presented to the team for resolution
· Assists with fostering a team-oriented professional culture,
providing input to policies and procedures that provide flexibility in a
changing environment
· Develop and maintain relationships with internal/external partners
to provide effective monitoring and escalation of incidents
· Ensure SLA attainment with the Operations Center for fault
detection, impact assessment and escalation for all properties
· Automate monitoring, reporting and other repetitive tasks
programmatically through the use of available tools and scripts
· Manage and update the monitoring infrastructure within the
operations center
*Technical Skills: *
· Experience working in a 24x7 production environment supporting
critical real-time applications
· Proved leadership and cross-group collaboration skills
· Working knowledge of SCOM, SQL, IIS, W2K3
· Willingness to work in a shift environment providing 7x24x365
support with the possibility of on-call
· Excellent customer service, strong interpersonal communication
skills, and effective written/oral communication skills
· Highly motivated self starting individual contributor capable of
working closely and effectively within a team that has fast pace demands
· Knowledge of methods for testing networking connectivity, vlan
saturation, etc. from host based tools
· Microsoft failover cluster knowledge
*Competencies:*
· Communication Skill - Demonstrated ability to work across multiple
teams and communicate complex issues effectively at all levels of the
organization
· Systems Knowledge - You will have an in-depth technical knowledge
in a specific subset of either networking, SQL, IIS, or W2k3 operating
systems and general working knowledge for the other areas. The ability to do
basic hardware setup, installation of software, general trouble shooting,
and analysis of performance bottlenecks is expected.
