The position is established to support the Washington D.C. Health Benefit Exchange (DCHBX), as part of the requirements of the Affordable Care Act. The purpose of the DCHBX is to provide a vehicle for individuals and small employers to find and enroll in affordable qualified health plans, as well as educate the public about access programs and understand tax credits and cost sharing reductions. The EDI Business Analyst will be part of the EDI Operations Team responsible for working with Carriers (Insurance Companies) to resolve business issues based on electronic data exchanged between DCHBX and the Carriers for member-enrollment purposes. Aspects include member and small business enrollments in a health plan, payments, and changes to coverage as well as deleting individuals from health plans. The EDI Business Analyst will be responsible for communicating and working with Carriers on an individual basis to resolve issues based on an understanding of the healthcare market and how an individual is enrolled in a health plan, as well as having excellent analytical skills in researching a business issue and the support data errors. Additionally, the EDI Business Analyst must be able to work with other members of the EDI Ops Team, the DCHBX business to resolve issues that require escalation and resolution. Position is full time in Washington D.C., with duty hours occurring between 7:00am and 7:00pm Monday – Friday. Minimum Qualifications · Four year degree and 2 years of experience, or work equivalent · Strong written and oral communication skills · Systems testing experience · Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products including word, excel, etc. · Knowledge of problem identification and tracking tools · Self motivated · Quick learner Additional Responsibilities Include · Participate in all phases of testing · Thoroughly document EDI transaction and data issues, and resolution · Ability to view, acknowledge and identify potential data impacts to other business operations and systems based on understanding the DCHBX operations and data requirements as well as the Carrier operations and business requirements.
