We have an urgent requirement for a * **Packaging Engineer**.* This is a contract position based in *Medina, MN.* If you are interested in this position*, please contact me / send your updated resume.* *Role: Packaging Engineer* *Location: Medina, MN* *Duration: 12+ months* *Job Description:* •Manage the key relationships with outside agencies on a project, specific basis. Monitor agency performance and ensure that projects are executed in line with the overall global strategic plan and are on time and on budget. •Act as a *central point of communication on multiple projects*. •Manage Ship-N-Store returnable containers and crates operationally. •Forecast need for returnable containers. •Manage and deliver to budget, including reporting and analysis. •Seek and recommend suppliers for all forms of packaging. •Evaluate packaging design for compatibility with current or future manufacturing systems. •Recommend best methods for packaging. •Work closely with Purchasing and Materials to manage quality, cost, delivery and Logistics. •Provide technical and resource information to entire organization for packaging. •Identify, plan, execute, and control packaging projects to deliver strategic business needs for growth, productivity, and quality. •Advise and consult on packaging best practices to enhance business performance. •Direct corrective actions with service providers and vendors to resolve packaging issues. Seek out and coordinate cost reduction opportunities. •Identify opportunities for returnable packaging and drive implementation through *Supply Chain*. •Negotiate pricing with assistance from Purchasing. •Work closely with and be the point of contact with *3rd party Logistics*consultants. •Review new designs and parts to recommend special packaging needs •Evaluates *compliance acceptance with Compliance group*. •Maintains standard pack data and informs affected personnel of changes. •Updates PFEP data for containers. •Resolves part quality issues caused by containers. •Working *knowledge of material flow and manufacturing systems* •strong analytical and organizational skills.
