Duration: 6 months* *Position Requirements:* *The DBA is going to be the key factor in the database upgrades from 2008 to 2012.Experience with the migration to NRG, which will require knowledge of "Always on Technology."MS SQL 2012 experience.General DBA tasks but with a heavy emphasis on Tuning to achieve Database optimization.* *Positions Responsibilities:* Maintaining data models and database designs by providing data access and performing table maintenance Maintaining database integrity by identifying and resolving database performance issues, capacity planning, replications and other distributed data issues Ensuring the security and integrity of the company's databases by administering, maintaining, developing, and recommending policies and procedures per best practices. Assessing the impact of database changes on system performance by effectively working with software development teams. Assisting users who encounter problems by reviewing help desk software queue, monitoring phone and email inquiries Forecasting growth and performance requirements by using trends and expectations of the business goals Maintaining security best practices by auditing user profile accounts, access levels, executing corporate policies as assigned by supervisor and other duties as needed Maintaining customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
