Location: NYC Rate: $55/hr on c2c Principal Responsibilities: Provides comprehensive network consultation to business unit and IT management and staffs at the highest technical level on all phases of the project development cycle. Works closely with client management and application developers to identify and specify the complex business requirements and processes (e.g., diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.); researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the network design. Performs analysis, system design, documentation, testing implementation and on-going support for extremely complex networks including firewalls, load balancers, and proxy servers. Provides highly technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new technologies, which assist the functional business units in meeting their strategies and objectives. Assists in planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the section and in the development of the overall project plans and timetables. Maintains relationships with vendors and other corporate telecommunications professionals. Experience: · Six years of solid, diverse work experience in LAN technology, or the equivalent in education and work experience. Knowledge and Skills Required: · Requires excellent analytical ability for network traffic manipulation and flows, strong judgment and probe analysis techniques, an in-depth knowledge of business unit’s functions and applications, and broad knowledge of telecommunication/LAN technologies including TCP/IP, AIX/UNIX/LINUX, Windows and extensive knowledge of network management tools. Knowledge of network security tools.
