*Location: Worcester, MA Project Length: 6 months + contract*

Description

Insurance client is looking for a GUIDEWIRE DEVELOPER for a *6 month +
contract *. The developer will be working on Enterprise projects using
Guidewire and writing code in GOSU.  He/she will be working in sub-teams
supporting large program development and future enhancements.

Objectives:

• Develop and maintain GOSU language application code within Guidewire
Policy Center application

• Plan, design, develop, modify, debug and evaluate moderately complex
software for functional areas.

• Analyze existing software or work to formulate logic for moderately
complex new systems



Qualifications:

• 2 – 5 years of development experience.

• Previous knowledge and demonstrated ability with GOSU programming
preferred

• Training is available for the right candidates with experience with Java
or .NET

• Intermediate skills associated with the design, development, modification
and deployment of software, including object-oriented programming concepts.

• P Insurance experience is preferred but not required

• Experience with Weblogic, WebSphere or similar Application Server

• Experience with issue and tracking software such as Jira, Version1 or
Rally

• Experience with source code management systems like Subversion

• Experience with Ant or similar scripting tool

• Experience with Anthill Pro or similar build and deployment tool

• Experience with using UML to specify application design (sequence
diagrams, class diagrams)

• Experience with writing SQL queries is a plus

• Familiarity with database access tools like SQL Developer, TOAD is a plus

• Experience with XML technologies (XSD, Xpath, Xquery, XSL, and XSLT)

• Experience executing in iterative development life cycleWeb Services
experience / SOA a benefit

• Bachelor’s degree required;

• Easily adaptable to various organization cultures

• Demonstrated experience managing to milestones and delivery dates is
essential.

• Demonstrates resourcefulness, ceaseless energy and persistence to achieve
goals despite obstacles and difficulties.  Conveys a strong sense of
urgency and drives issues to closure
