Position Title: Big Data Linux System Admin Location: NY/NJ Start Date/Duration: ASAP/6 months Rate:$45 C2C Role Description: In the role of Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible to provide support in a heterogeneous server environment supporting applications such as *Hadoop, Palantir, Hana and other Big Data Environment consists*. Individual must work closely with different LOBs to bring resolution to all issues and perform proactive duties such as application installs, Linux support, and software upgrades. Must be able to work independently as well as with a group. Perform duties following all client standards regarding engagement, change management, and escalation. Required to escalate to vendors and provide root cause analysis and incident reports. Provide timely resolution to break/fix issues. Skills Required: • Minimum of 5+ years professional experience working with Linux Servers in a production environment • Some experience in any one of the Big Data solutions such as Hadoop, Palantir, Green Plum, etc. • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience • Knowledge of Linux Redhat • Understanding of security best practices for multi-tiered operating systems • Advanced scripting abilities with Shell and Perl • Understanding of backup process, system monitoring, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and scripting for Solaris and Linux based OS • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Ability to develop strong client relationships • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Tivoli and SunMC • Knowledge of Open SSH • Ability to work under pressure • Knowledge of MS Suite a plus • Knowledge of CF Engine, Stack IQ a plus • Ability to work unconventional shifts *Best Regards,* *Sheikh | she...@bijjamit.com* *Resource Manager* Note: We respect your Online Privacy.
