Senior Java Developer -$60 per hr Location: Woodlawn, MD Duration: Long Term Need Local Description of Work: - Designing and developing user interfaces / applications by setting expectations and feature priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests. - Participate in customer team meetings and conversations with client personnel to understand business and technical requirements. - Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development. - Mentor junior developers and provide technical documentation support. - Plan for and conduct implementation activities. - Compile periodic reports and interface on a daily/weekly basis with customer and Northrop Grumman management. - Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis. - Ability and willingness to work in tough deadlines. Basic Qualifications: Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities - Bachelor's degree and 14 years of experience or Masters and 12 years of experience - 5 years of experience with Java and JEE technologies. - Minimum of 2 years of experience with the following: o Object Oriented Analysis skills with experience in design documentation. o Object Relational Mapping technologies like JPA/Hibernate. o SOA and web service technologies. o Working on Struts 2.0 framework and writing complex SQL queries. o Working experience of JavaScript, jQuery, CSS. o Database experience with relational database systems like DB2, Oracle. o Using the IDEs like RAD, RSA. o Different application servers, preferably IBM Websphere application server. o Extensive knowledge of Design patterns and UML experience. o Must have the ability to contribute to design and architecture discussions. - Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and documentation skills. - Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Project, MS Power Point, and MS Visio. - Must have development, design and production support experience.
