The primary responsibility for the Data Analyst/Reporting Analyst is to
work directly with key business stakeholders (often at the highest level),
peers, and application developers in the creation and presentation of new
assessment metrics, lifecycle analytics, key performance indicators and
measures, interactive models, and data quality processes while maintaining
and enhancing existing analytic and reporting offerings. Analysts are
actively involved in:

1. Requirement generation
2. Solution design and creation (using a variety of tools Business Objects,
Xcelsius, Tableau, SQL/PLSQL, TSQL, Excel, PowerPivot, SPSS, SAS,
SalesForce Analytics, etc.)
3. Quality Assurance testing
4. Implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of solutions
5. Support and facilitation of presentations to a wide audience of internal
and external stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skill Sets:
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex
data sets
Familiarity with basic statistical methodologies to analyze data, forecast
trends, and create analytical models
Knowledge of lifecycle reporting and analytics, “what if” scenario
analytics, survey methodologies and analyses, as well as root cause and
data mining techniques
Experience with common analytic toolsets (SAS, SPSS, R, Excel, Oracle
Analytic Functions, etc.)
Established track record in creating compelling and readily understandable
data visualizations, presentations, and reports
Ability to communicate findings, methodologies, and complex concepts (both
verbally and written) to a wide audience of stakeholders
Demonstrated experience with Business Intelligence toolsets (Business
Objects, MicroStrategy, Cognos, etc.) as well as dashboard offerings
(Xcelsius, Tableau, Qlikview, etc.)
Familiarity with data warehouses (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.) with an
understanding of Kimball and Inmon approaches to data warehousing
Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL or TSQL query generation as well as SQL
optimization
Ability to collaborate and actively engage in the determination of
requirements, solution design, and development efforts
Flexible and capable of prioritizing competing tasks, timelines, and work
streams
Self motivated, detail oriented, responsible, and dependable with the
ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management/Technology, Mathematics,
Economics, or related analytics discipline (e.g. social and behavioral
sciences, biology, psychology etc.)
5+ years professional experience in the analysis and presentation of data
utilizing large data stores
5+ years experience with writing SQL statements sourcing large and complex
data bases and data marts
5+ years experience with business intelligence and analytic toolsets

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Business Objects, Xcelsius, and Tableau
Experience with SPSS
Exposure to SalesForce.com reporting and analytic offerings
Knowledge of cloud analytics
Background in healthcare with experience in a FDA-regulated environment

The chosen contractor will be individually responsible for the completion
of a critical near-term quick-turn project

It will require a mix of strong technical skills and business acumen to
build a non-manual process to gather data on Client’s corporate clients
from multiple raw and disparate sources,

building a process that applies “fuzzy” logic using both existing business
rules and new rules as needed that matches activity from seemingly
different clients together into one holistic view of client activity.



*End result will be a process that *

1) Tags all Client corporate client transaction activity-to-date with their
parent company,

2) Process new records against this existing list and each other to
identify matches to existing clients, or net-new clients, and

3) Effectively aggregate these same-company/same-parent records as
appropriate providing hotel statistics by client

Predictive modeling experience is helpful (*SAS, Python, R),* as is
experience using master data management tools and fuzzy-logic matching
tools to accomplish similar projects.



*The perfect candidate can:*

*• Use their strength in Microsoft SQL Server and standard ETL tools to
find, extract, manipulate and setup data (should need no assistance in this
area – SQL and ETL should be an advanced skillset)*

• Understand existing business rules employed in the current manual
process, takeover/own this process, and build-in new rules as needed

• Employ sophisticated “fuzzy matching” logic and statistical methods that
consider relative “closeness” of a match using multiple fields, and
determine if the records belong to the same company, or belong to any
existing client in



*Client’s system*

• Build an automated process that accomplishes the above, ending with
robust reporting, and standard *“audit” and “outlier” files*

• Document all of the above effectively for turnover to Full-Time Client
Associates

This kind of work is frequently done in B2B and Consumer marketing
operations (mail houses, credit agencies), consolidating house files and
rental files to eliminate multiple messages/mailers to the same contact.

A background in these areas would be an advantage.

miner/data analyst to join their data testing team on a large integrated
product testing effort.

Requires a proactive individual who takes initiative and can work
