*SCOPE OF SERVICES*
*Job Description*
The agency seeks a motivated, dynamic Business Analyst to join its
innovative technology team in revolutionizing Homeless Management
Information Systems. The New York City Department of Homeless Services
(Client) uses the latest technologies and enterprise-wide application
solutions in its groundbreaking work to prevent homelessness and improve
the agency's business operations.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in a fast-paced environment, is
customer-service oriented, has a wide spectrum of informatics, research,
and evaluation experience and is a problem solver with strong communication
skills. This individual can quickly identify critical elements in complex
business processes and is able to take initiative, work independently, and
collaborate effectively with others.

*Responsibilities*

   1. Run existing queries and finalize daily, weekly and monthly reports
   2. Develop and improve SPSS and SQL queries
   3. Conduct interagency data matches
   4. Manage HMIS reporting and provide knowledge of HUD requirements to
   providers and operations
   5. Analyze business process and build efficiencies
   6. Analyze portfolio of indicators and reports to reduce duplication and
   ensure highest quality, targeted reporting
   7. Assist in centralizing data currently in Access and Excel (e.g.
   Veterans data)
   8. Interface with stakeholders to manage communication, assign requests,
   and monitor status of requests
   9. Administrative support, including budget management and HR-related
   support
   10. Document process and introduce improvements to everyday staff
   workflow
   11. Support the Cognos Enhanced Reporting and sBusiness Intelligence
   initiatives (document report requirements, create reports, and deliver
   those reports)
   12. Provide database support to operational staff


*SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS *

   - *MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE **Note: candidates who do not have the
   mandatory skills will not be considered.*
   - Excel and Access
   - Experience with large relational databases

*DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE : - *
*Preferred Skills*

   - Deep and broad knowledge of the domain
   - SQL DB
   - Demonstrated success in managing and coordinating with staff across
   multiple projects, and successful leadership of cross-functional teams.
   - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
   - Highly organized, detail oriented individual with excellent
   problem-solving skills.
   - Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding
   of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into
   application and operational requirements.
   - Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of
   technical, functional and management staff.
   - Business analysis experience creating requirement use cases,
   functional specifications preferred.
   - Familiarity with agile methodology preferred.
