Need someone strong on BW Basis
- Migration to Windows/Orcale- Needs to have a good coordination ability and
needs to drive this .. Also needs to present the plan to Cole Haan in terms
of sequencing the new HW move, Support pack upgrade and Oracle upgrade ) .
no support packs have been applied in the past 3-4 years
- Oracle Upgrade (10G to 11 G )
- BW Version 2004s SP13 ( looks like BI7 )
- Needs to be able to do BW Sandbox and QA refresh
- Needs to be able to coordinate requirements with Infrastructure /
Datacenter team
- Needs some familiarity with VMWare to facilitate datacenter coordination
- Needs to be familiar with BW system copies and backend configurations
- Good communications
-Strong Project Management Skills
- Can start in the next 1-2 weeks for 5 months
Client Environment:
• BI 7
• no support packs in the past 3-4 years
• ( they are already on this but are moving to a more current hardware as
their existing HW is 5 years old )
• They are going thru a BW stabilization initiative to make the evironment
more reliable ( this includes move to new HW, Oracle upgrade and SP upgrade
)
• Use Bex 3.5
• Due to memory issues, they are currently rebooting their BW system twice a
week (
• They are unable to add memory to their current HW due to old model
• They want to refresh SBX and QA form Prod a sa part of this effort
• SBX, DEV, QA, PRD landscape
• The Backend to the BW system is ECC which is not in scope of work

*Duration: 9 Months*
*Atlanta, GA is preferred or Bothell, WA could be an option.*

Functional/Technical Skills (Must have’s):
• Be able to work with little or no supervision and provide directions to
peers.
• Ability to write and present reports and interact with vendors and senior
management.
• Advanced knowledge of debugging and performance tuning stored procedures,
UDFs and triggers.
• Advanced knowledge of index analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of data normalization.
• Advanced knowledge of various monitoring and tuning tools such as
Profiler, Spotlight.
• Advanced knowledge of advanced installation and configuration procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of hardware, including clusters, RAID, multi-processor
architecture, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of VBScript and advanced DTS, SSIS package design.
• Advanced knowledge of networking and how it relates to SQL Server
connectivity.
• Advanced knowledge of shell scripting (i.e. command line applications,
batch files, etc.)
Experience:
• Seven plus years experience in a large scale SQL 2000, 2005 and 2008
environments.
• Advanced knowledge of multi-node clustered SQL environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows 2000, 2003 and 2008 server.
This is a Senior level Database Administration position involving management
of multiple databases in a highly dynamic environment. The candidate will
provide leadership and advanced technical expertise to a team in support of
operational and project related activities. Additionally, they will provide
advanced technical and operational support to other departments and teams as
required in support of business objectives.
