*Role: SQL Server DBA*

*Location: St. Louis, MO - must be inmidwest or local is even better*

*Duration: 24+ months*



*Manager Notes:  Will be supporting new Server 2014 with ERP*



*MOST IMPORTANT - Mid level with some kind of financial package/ERP support
experience*

   - We really need this SQL Server DBA resource onsite and visible.  They
   need to be very strong in infrastructure.
   - MUST HAVE EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS.
   - They just migrated one system to 2014.  ERP is already migrated (which
   is their main system) but he said there are tons of databases everywhere.
   - Need to be able to analyze why we’re doing what we’re doing.
   - Experience with migration, consolidation, capacity planning would be
   ideal.
   - They are single node cluster and moving to a cluster environment.
   - They need to be an expert, high energy-"get it done attitude",
   proactive, very positive and collaborative.   We are looking for the best
   communication skills, this position has high visibility.
   - Candidates should have larger enterprise experience in areas of
   Policies, Standards and Documentation; RC looking at 2016 version and will
   move to Cloud



***Additionally must have small Company mentality - wear multiple hats and
be able to multi-task (integration of jobs in environment) - candidate must
have the breadth and depth experience across the enterprise



*Will be supporting the Senior DBA who has the responsibilities below.*



·The Sr SQL Server DBA should be proficient on SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012,
and 2014 support, advanced performance tuning, monitoring and
troubleshooting techniques.

·Have advanced experience with database internal operations including but
not limited to: backups, restores, data extracts, security configuration
and disk space allocation.

·Experience with backup and restore.

·Extensive knowledge of SQL Server internal architecture. Knowledge of
Project Management concepts to be used on the support of medium to large
size databases.

·Familiarity with SQL Server management automation via PowerShell
scripting. B

e able to provide junior DBA mentorship. Proficiency on SQL Server high
availability and disaster recovery solutions: Replication, Mirroring,
Clustering, Log Shipping and SQL Server 2012 and 2014 “AlwaysOn”.

·Have experience with upgrade, installation, configuration and maintenance
of SQL Server instances, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis
Services and SQL Server Integrated Services in production and
non-production environments.

·As well as, strong customer services skills with the ability to
effectively communicate with customers, project teams and management.



•   Support for multiple mission critical applications, including High
Availability Database Replication.

•   Create physical mid-sized database structures based on physical design
for development, test, and production environments. Partner with DBA's and
provide guidance on lower level projects.

•   Work with system engineers to configure servers for DBMS product
installation and mid-sized database creation.

•   SQL Server performance tuning

•   Conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling

•   Enforcement of database standards

•   Documentation of procedures and best practices

•   Capacity planning & trending analysis
