Senior Java web application Developer



The primary purpose of the Java Web Application Developer resource is to
work with members of our development team and business team to provide
application design and development support for existing and new web
application modules for Child support technical team.


   - Able to work without assistance; able to manage highly complex work
   efforts.
   - Develop application specifications and test cases
   - Develop web applications using program specifications or user requests
   - Debug and diagnose coding errors and performance issues

Requires a previous domain of experience in applications development.
Responsible for overall application design, including interfaces with other
applications and systems.  Assures that application designs are consistent
with industry best practices application attributes (including scalability,
availability, maintainability, and flexibility).



5+ years experience with Financial Services clients

Oversight

Coordinating others work while involved with multiple work streams



*Related experience:*

· 9 years prior application development experience

· 10 years of experience in Java/J2ee development

· Experience is required in REST/SOAP web services.

· Experience is required in Spring Web flow/MVC and Security

· Demonstrated experience with large scale application integration
efforts

· Have participated in more than 5 Agile projects

· Communication - Ability to communicate strategies and processes
around data modeling and architecture to cross functional groups and senior
levels

· Ability to influence multiple levels on highly technical issues
and challenges

· Demonstrated experience to influence and coordinate third parties
and suppliers

*Main Duties:*

Development of distributed applications used for analytical purposes in the
mobile broad band industry. The candidate must have the ability to work
comfortable amongst several technologies and programming languages which
integrate with Java. It is a requirement to have a background consisting of
a major amount of Java but not a requirement to have experience in all the
languages that are in play, but the candidate must exhibit an eagerness to
learn those technologies they do not have exposure to.



*Preferred Background: *

· M.S. / B.S. Degree in computer science or engineer-related
discipline

· Good understanding of software project development life-cycles,
i.e. waterfall vs. agile

· 7+ years of development experience

· Excellent problem solving skills

· Experience implementing statistical data solutions or data mining
algorithms is a plus

· Knowledge of the Telecom industry is a plus



*Preferred Technical Background: *

· Java Experience with Spring or the Spring Framework

· Ability to integrate Java applications with applications written
in other programming languages.

· Proven Experience with Object Oriented JavaScript is a must

· Any experience in the following a PLUS: Groovy, Ruby, NodeJS,
