Job Title : UNIX Admin Location : San Francisco, CA Duration : 6+ Months Contract *Specific monitoring tools: * Foglight (preferred) Nagios Splunk *Essential Job Functions:* 3-5 years UNIX Systems Administration experience 2+ years in a 24/7/365 high-volume environment. 4 years of Linux Systems Administration experience. Experience with highly available solutions / architectures. Candidate MUST have experience working in a structured change management processes for highly available Web facing environment. Previous experience Managing e-commerce related sites, and/or On- demand services. Experience building and configuring major Internet host/network services including but not limited to: Web (http, SSL, etc.), Mail (Sendmail, etc.), DNS, NFS, Databases (Oracle, etc.) and Java. Some Networking Experience - TCP/IP, Load Balancing. Perl, Shell, CAP scripting. J2EE / JBoss experience Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team development. Ability to perform needs assessment and handle technical objections. Desired Skills: Strong experience working in high-volume, terabyte-sized OLTP environment.
