+4 years of professional experience in a relevant field
- Bachelor's degree (or comparable work experience) in Computer Science or
related field
- A full stack web developer with a history of modern tools (Vagrant,
Composer, Grunt, Sublime, Git to name a few)
- Masterful in PHP and are up to speed with version 5.5 or above
- Experience with Object Oriented PHP techniques and frameworks like
CakePHP, Symphony Laravel, and Zend.
- Expert in building solutions using modern frontend technologies and
tools, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular, Bootstrap,
Responsive Design, and Web Services (REST, JSON, XML).
- Expert in developing complex, high-performance SQL queries.
- Have a strong working knowledge of DevOps in a hybrid cloud environment
- Experience installing and maintaining Linux web servers, database
clusters, and load balancers in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Comfortable working on a small, collaborative team where you wear
multiple hats, depending on project needs.
- Passionate about developing robust and reliable client service offerings
- Comfortable leading projects or acting as a key contributor.
It would be awesome if you:
- Can have an educated conversation about why you would use Nginx or Apache.
- Have experience build solutions using Amazon Web Services.
- Come from a client service background and understand the nature of
responding to client needs.
- Have knowledge of the political or advocacy space -- a context that is
helpful to our clients.
- Have experience with multiple Content Management Systems, like Drupal,
WordPress, Expression Engine, and October.
- Have experience with CRM systems, like Sugar CRM, CiviCRM and SalesForce.
- Have experience developing with Node.js or Python.
-Have experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Ansible, and Docker.
What you'll do:
- Serve as a front and back-end developer for projects, including
developing core functionality and custom plugins on our legacy platform.
- Perform Front-end development using a mobile-first philosophy of
responsive design.
- Perform back-end development using clean, object-oriented PHP and
performant SQL.
- Work with the current team to develop new and innovative products and
services using best-of-breed, evolving technologies and platforms.
- Collaborate with the creative team to provide technical guidance and
deliver websites that are to specification
- Develop back-end website functionality for clients that can be modular
and used in a plugin-based architecture.
- Integrate client Enterprise systems and third-party platforms while
complying with Information Security requirements.
- Act as a technical liaison on client projects.
- Support DevOps activities, including architecting solutions, performing
system administration, patching servers and applications, performing
functional testing.
