*Location*: El Segundo Campus

*Position*: Java Developer

*H1B:* OK – but you know my rules **No out of city** MUST BE LOCAL TO
ORANGE COUNTY, CA or Los ANGELES, CA ONLY

*Duration*: 18 months

*Project:*

They are supporting the NFL Sunday Ticket App by creating and maintaining
the API’s and Web Services. They are the Dev team for all of it. They work
with the Mobile development client team and develop their web services,
etc.

*Notes from my meeting:*

· Prefer candidates that have worked on long term projects….if you
see a pattern of job hopping – it’s not the right candidate.

· They are developing the web services to provide the content to
their mobile apps.

· They are on the *server side of java development*.

· Will review a resume and look at relevant skills, commitment to
projects, and have they been doing production supports.

· Looking for people with Java 1.5/1.6/1.7/1.8, J2EE, Spring,
NoSQL, AWS – version of Java not important.

· Communication is equally important – but not as important as some
of the other roles.

· Looking for anybody who has experience working on customer/public
facing applications.

· They are developing (in Java) the restful web services for the
NFL Sunday Ticket App.

· The interview will be a review of their resume – if they list it,
they better be able to back it up.

· They want people that can independently work and review code in
production and find ways to improve it.

· Most people only know Eclipse and Unit Testing – he wants people
who have done Java dev outside of this.

· Likes people from startups or mid-size companies, because they
have had wide exposure. Doesn’t like financial services.

*Questions:*

· *Have they developed Java on a Linux System*

· Do they only develop within Eclipse and then deploy or have they
actually developed within a Linux/Mac system

· *Must know Spring *

· *Are they just a Java Developer or do they think bigger, network
topology, OS issues, etc*

· Experience with high traffic websites

· Experience making applications more scalable

· Experience with distributed caching

· Experience with NoSQL

· How does the client talk to the server

· If you need to check if a web service is up and running, how
would you do it? ping command, telnet command, etc

· In Java, how would you start a tomcat server on a linux machine –
bask/shell script, etc.

*Job Description: *

Looking for a Senior Java Developer responsible for designing, implementing
and supporting high performance web applications.
