the best way to do this migration?

The most simple would be:

- send us the archives in mbox format

- we create the list and import the archives

- you manually migrate (mass subcribe) the list of subscribers, and
  reconfigure the list at gnu.org

How does it sound?

Details:

Hi,

I'm the maintainer of the Arc buildtool project
(http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/arc/). We've decided to upgrade the
license of the code to GPL 3 and FDL (for the documentation) respectively.
Could you please update the corresponding information on the project page?

Thanks,
Gregor

2009-03-21 Thread Karl Berry

Follow-up Comment #1, sr #106690 (project administration):

Hi Gregor -- glad to hear about your decision. isn't there a checkbox on the
admin pages about upgrade license to gplv3?
i can look further if it's not apparent to you.

as for the doc, as far i know savannah has no provision for specifying
separate doc/source licenses. perhaps mention it in the long description?
most packages i know of don't do anything special; the licenses are specified
in the source tree anyway ...

thanks,
karl

Would it be possible to just have libmicroht...@gnu.org?

BTW, this (pkgn...@gnu.org) used to be an option for the name provided
by the web interface. Was it intentionally removed? Too many conflicts?
In principle it seems like a very nice convention to me.

Sounds good. Since Karl agreed that the list should not be split, we'll keep
it as libmicroht...@gnu.org and of course an alias from bug-libmicrohttpd to
the list would be great. I'm currently in DC, I'll talk to our admin at DU
to get the archives once I'm back in Denver in a few days. I'll then make
the mbox available to you so you can set up the archive.

Thanks for your help!

Christian
