Re: [Savannah-hackers-public] ok to install locales package on vcs.sv?

2013-08-28 Thread Karl Berry
Anyone know of a reason why I should not `apt-get install locales' on
vcs.sv? I'd leave the default locale as None, as it is now.

As long as the default locale doesn't change, sounds safe enough to
me to try. Please just keep an eye for it for people reporting new and
strange errors that might be related, after doing it.

I think this is the way to solve a bzr commit email issue with non-ascii
characters in people's Savannah user names.

Happy hacking.

Thanks,
k

I thought the copyright line was still needed to prepare for the case

You may be right, but then it seems like there should be some text about
that. I find CC0 extremely confusing in many ways, and its usage is
never clearly spelled out, that I've seen ...

Hi - sorry to hear it. I passed your notice on to webmast...@gnu.org
for removal from the GNU mirror list. I don't see you in the nongnu
(savannah) mirror list, so that's fine.

Done.

It actually looks like the Savannah gecos data (real names etc) is in
latin-1 rather than utf-8; does anyone know if that is indeed the case?
