Re: SL 6.2 rpmfusion

2012-02-18 Thread Daniel Pun
Hi Steven,

I did already enable EPEL after the installation of SL 6.2
and have removed the RPMFUSION Fedora packages
and now installed EL6 RPMFUSION packages.

According to your suggestions, my output are as follows:

[pund@church ~]$ rpm -qpl rpmfusion-free-release-6-0.1.noarch.rpm
warning: rpmfusion-free-release-6-0.1.noarch.rpm: Header V3 RSA/SHA256
Signature, key ID 849c449f: NOKEY
/etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-rpmfusion-free-el-6
/etc/yum.repos.d/rpmfusion-free-updates-testing.repo
/etc/yum.repos.d/rpmfusion-free-updates.repo
[pund@church ~]$ rpm -qpl rpmfusion-nonfree-release-6-0.1.noarch.rpm
warning: rpmfusion-nonfree-release-6-0.1.noarch.rpm: Header V3 RSA/SHA256
Signature, key ID 5568bbb2: NOKEY
/etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-rpmfusion-nonfree-el-6
/etc/yum.repos.d/rpmfusion-nonfree-updates-testing.repo
/etc/yum.repos.d/rpmfusion-nonfree-updates.repo
[pund@church ~]$

I will install yum-plugin-fastestmirror and see how it goes.
Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,
-Daniel.

I think because I only have

 -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 1002 May 15 2011 rpmfusion-free-updates.repo
 -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 1062 May 15 2011

 -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 1047 May 15 2011 rpmfusion-nonfree-updates.repo
 -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 1107 May 15 2011
 rpmfusion-nonfree-updates-**testing.repo

 and should have

  rpmfusion-free.repo
  rpmfusion-nonfree.repo

 Did you see this note:
You need to enable EPEL on RHEL 5 6 or compatible distributions like
CentOS before you enable RPM Fusion for EL. See the fedoraproject wiki for
 instruction how to enable EPEL.

Your file list looks about right:
 $ rpm -qpl rpmfusion-free-release-6-0.1.**noarch.rpm
 /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-**rpmfusion-free-el-6
 /etc/yum.repos.d/rpmfusion-**free-updates-testing.repo
 /etc/yum.repos.d/rpmfusion-**free-updates.repo

 $ rpm -qpl rpmfusion-nonfree-release-6-0.**1.noarch.rpm
 /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-**rpmfusion-nonfree-el-6
 /etc/yum.repos.d/rpmfusion-**nonfree-updates-testing.repo
 /etc/yum.repos.d/rpmfusion-**nonfree-updates.repo

Looking at your original error message again:

Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository:
rpmfusion-free. Please verify its path and try again

Firstly, try installing yum-plugin-fastestmirror. It may be a single
mirror site you are having troubles connecting to. I think we both picked
up on you using the Fedora packages instead of EL6 - however we both missed
that it sounds like a network error!

If all you are after is kmod-nvidia, I highly recommend using the ELRepo
repository.

Re: SL 6.2 rpmfusion

2012-02-18 Thread Daniel Pun
Thanks Mark.

I installed elrepo.repo and the nvidia driver in SL 6.2 without any
problems.

However, I followed the instructions mentioned in
http://rpmfusion.org/Configuration
and still cannot get rpmfusion fully installed on SL 6.2, that is, I can
only get

rpmfusion-free-updates.repo
rpmfusion-free-updates-testing.repo
rpmfusion-nonfree-updates.repo
rpmfusion-nonfree-updates-testing.repo

and cannot have rpmfusion-free.repo and rpmfusion-nonfree.repo

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
-Daniel.
