I'm with you on this, Mr Worf. Whoopi lost me as a fan back when, on the
view, she and Sherri Shepard both defended the use of the N-word as
acceptable, bringing Elisabeth Hasselbeck to tears as she decried its use.
Never agreed with Hasselbeck on a single point of hers before that.

racist. Goldberg's careful to add that she doesn't support Gibson's behavior or 
the things that he's said that might be construed as threatening to Gibson's ex 
or children, but that whole pack of n---gers thing definitely wasn't racist. 
With that in mind, let's take a trip down memory lane for the other non-racist 
and tolerant things that Gibson's been caught saying on camera, on tape, or by 
police officers with glorious breasts:

words from anyone I know and then trying to defend that person.

Does anyone else feel as though this recording is getting so much play just

There could be a couple of things going on here. One could be that there are
some producers milking it for what its worth. (that's always a certainty)
The other is that someone is getting pleasure out of it because it is so
un-PC which is a conservative hot button. It fits right in with the
teabagger crap.

You're right on both counts. Gibson's dad spends his time as a traveling 
Holocaust denier. Gibson subscribes to some older tenets of the Catholic 
Church--officially abandoned by the church a few decades back--that lean more 
toward things such as condemning the Jews for the Crucifixtion. I have 
certainly known closet bigots on this level in my life, but it's been a 
while... 
As for Goldberg, unfortunately I have friends and relatives just like that. 
They condemn blacks for all the wrongs they suffered at their hands, but don't 
hold the same grudges against whites. I have black friends who are really quick 
to call blacks ghetto, or label all black women golddiggers or whatever, but 
who never speak in general terms about the bad characteristics of other ethnic 
groups. Dennis Rodman is an example. He loves to say he dates white women 
because black women were so cruel to him before he gained fame and money. 
somehow he's never forgiven those knucklehead sisters who were shallow in his 
youth, but doesn't seem to realize few white women would be dating him if he 
weren't rich? Don't get it. A big concern of mine recently has been the 
explosion in black men who are quick to call Sisters gold diggers, but don't 
seem to label other races--often more deserving--as quickly with that title. 

I get that it hurts more coming from your own, but shouldn't forgiveness start 
there too?
