Yup. Bootstrap gives you responsive design for 'free'.
I'm just waiting for emails and phone calls on my dad's estate today so
should have some bandwidth to work on this stuff.
(It's relaxing by comparison..) (Know anyone who wants to buy a 1953 MG

The top menu obscures the top of each page, I guess that's what you mean by
the over-wide top menu.  With that fixed, it looks like it would be able to
functionally replace the current version.  A bit of styling and color might
be nice, with the brick logo etc.?  But otherwise I think it's promising.
It looks good on mobile too (other than again the top menu obscuring the
text), with a hamburger menu to select the different pages.  Responsive
design and all that modernity.

I guess we should collect some feedback first: What do other people/devs say 
about the ¨new¨ SCons webpage? Is this a good direction to go, assuming that we 
adapt some basic style things like the colours of headings, for example?

Remember, background of the whole ¨Pelican¨ endeavour was to be able to offer 
Atom/RSS feeds to users.

We should also test how the HTML docs display under the Pelican stylesheets, or 
would these stay separate?

I have a partly done compete redesign.
Sounds like the about page should be the landing page and the front page
should be a news page.

I think we should try to get rid of the News section at the top of the main 
page in general. There will always be the danger of the news items pushing down 
the rest...if we leave it at its current place.

Maybe we can use the left margin (similar to the right menu) to display the 
latest three News items in a somewhat smaller font? Just as an idea...

under "Latest News" before you get to "What is SCons" and the quotes etc.?
