[sdre-l]: possible artwork/track listing for live album

1999-10-09 Thread Rob Riss

hmmm...

sub pop seems pretty happy with using the penciled drawings on the website.
Used once for the banner on the order page, and again on the sdre preorder
page are two seperate penciled sketches of people waiting in line for a sdre
show.

Even the extremely minimal artwork for LP2 was consistant with the sdre
theme. This would totally throw things off...

the picture on the sdre preorder page probably will be in the album - on the
wall on the left side is a random listing of songs that looks very similar
to the set list on the last tour...

so here it is, the probable track listing for the live album -

pillars
guitar and video games
the blankets were the stairs
100 million
every shining time you arrive
song about an angel
the prophet
j'nuh
rodeo jones
in circles
days were golden

Re: [sdre-l]: [sdre-l]Vehicle Birth

1999-10-09 Thread Seth Oort

Hey, any Vehicle Birth fans out there? This was an innovative,
emo-influenced band who put out one great LP on Crank! records (still
available), and self-published two obscure 7"s. They broke up in the
middle of their last tour, this past spring.
But don't despair-- there is a posthumous split 7" with the Wicked
Farleys out now on Doom Nibbler records, and former VB frontman Timothy
James has just finished recording his first LP with his new band, The
Movies. He's shopping it around, but Crank! has already shown interest.
They've got a more mellow, introspective sound, which even includes
(gasp!) keyboards-- but as with the VB, Tim's inspired songwriting is
the key element.
I urge you all to check out The Vehicle Birth now, and The Movies
when their first album is released sometime in the next few months.

[sdre-l]: Anyone in the Jax area

1999-10-09 Thread Matt Caron

Hey all,
I just moved to the Jacksonville area, Im going to UNF. I have two
guitarists and a vocalist already, but we need a bassist and drummer, even
a keyboardist(moog/synth/piano) would be cool, to finish off the band. We
are looking to do something along the lines of SDRE, Get Up Kids, and Texas
is the Reason. Write me if your interested, experience would be a big plus
but its not necessary at all. Thanks

[sdre-l]: New Label

1999-10-09 Thread L.D. Ferris

I find it odd no one's talkinga bout the new label. After weeks of
speculating it'd be a major like Virgin or something it's somehting called
"Time Bomb" - may just be me but I have no idea what the hell this label
is. Does anyone know anything about it? Who owns it? Is it owned by a
major? Etc, etc, etc.

[sdre-l]: SDRE Live CD Pre-Orders

1999-10-09 Thread specofficia

Everyone probably already knows this but SubPop is taking pre-orders for the new
double EP/CD SDRE Live.
SubPop is also selling a SDRE Live video cassette as well.

Check it out at:
http://www.subpop.com/orders/sdre_frames.html

   Later On,
Peter

p.s. I called today to place an order and I was told to call back Friday (10/8)
because they didn't have the item in the computer yet. Also the release date for both
is October 19, like that needed to be written.

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have specific details regarding this SDRE Subpop

Any info greatly appreciated. TIA.

[sdre-l]: Iscarabaid

1999-10-09 Thread matthew518

I don't know if anyone noticed, but on LP2, on that song Iscarabaid, after he sings
the line "Belayed Inside You Lately Things Will Promise You Were," if your turn the
balance on your stereo all the way to the right channel you can hear jeremy scream in
the background. You really have to listen to it closely to hear it though. I just
thought it sounded funny.
