Man, don't you guys ever read the news page on sunnydayrealestate.com
anymore? Guess where all these news sites got their info from? crushed
 and saddened - ansi

don't mean to be mean...but I stopped visiting the site. Most of the site
hasn't been updated since it's launch. I think that if Joe Bass has time to put
the fall tour dates on his page, then the custodian of the official site should
do so too. I almost drove 300 miles more than I had to to see SDRE in july
because you either have too much pride to let anybody help you, or you don't
care enough to do the job that the band trusted you to do. You did the band and
the fans a disservice when you bit off more than you can chew, so don't get
insulted when people stop visiting the page.

Nobody will visit a page they know hasn't posted any new content since the last
time they visited. If people don't visit the site...it's YOUR fault as
webmaster for not giving them a reason to.

anyway...this has been a rant of mine that's been stewing since may. I've tried
offering my help, and I've given my feedback when you've asked for it in this
list. It's up to you if you want to listen. I just wonder if the band knows
how neglected their website has been. There are SDRE list members (why should
I, because) who's high school garage band has a more up to date website than
SDRE's.

crushed and saddened since may

[sdre-l]: Movie Stars

1999-08-31 Thread Charlie Wagner

I found this link through Wicked Land (http://www.wickedland.com/):

Vocalist/guitarist Jeremy Enigk and drummer William Goldsmith of emo-core
pioneers Sunny Day Real Estate are slated to appear in the action-comedy
"For The Cash", an indie film directed by Matt Matsuoko, ccording to the
band's official Web site(www.sunnydayrealestate.com).

Goldsmith and Enigk, who play fallen angels, are part of a cast that
features members of 764-Hero, Gashuffer, Undertow, The U-Men, Botch, and
Murder City Devils. Goldsmith, who briefly served as drummer for the Foo
Fighters, portrayed a blind alcoholic in Matsuoka's last film, "Heartbreak
Beat".

"For The Cash" will be showing in the Seattle area this fall followed by a
video release this winter.

Meanwhile, Sunny Day Real Estate is currently mulling offers from major
labels having fulfilled their contract with Sub Pop records, which will be
releasing a live SDRE album and video Oct. 19. In following with the trend
of wiping the slate clean, SDRE has dropped their management as well.
