[sdre-l]: an appearance by mr. mendel

2001-05-14 Thread john d west

hey everyone,

this isn't the most sdre related post in the world, but i thought i'd send
it anyways...
i picked up the new album by the band Juno the other day, and since their
bassist left the band last year, they had a couple people fill in for the
album. one of them is former sdre 4-stringer nate mendel. (the other for
those curious is nick harmer from death cab for cutie). anyways, if you miss
hearing nate doing cool basslines, i highly recommend picking up the cd.
sounds like he got a lot more creative on this than he typically does with
the foo fighters (and no, that's not a knock on the foos...juno's music just
allows more for it). actually, pick up the album just because Juno is an
amazing band. for those interested, you can get the cd at insound by
following this link:
http://www.insound.com/artistmain.cfm?arefer=P_ID=P%20%20%20310757

if for some reason that didn't work, go to juno's homepage here:
http://bosski.com/juno/index.html

has a link to the insound thing as well as a downloadable mp3 from the new
record (nick plays bass on it). and in case you were wondering, no, i'm not
in the band...i don't really know anyone in the band...i just happen to
think they're amazing and wanted to share with the rest of ya. hope i didn't
waste anyone's time.

john

oh, i totally agree that juno is a great band.
haven't heard much of the newer stuff
though(unfortunately). i've been wanting to check
into that release though, ya got me thinking about it
now so i probably will have to sometime this week.

have they been playing many shows up in seattle
recently?(juno) or touring in general for that
matter? i've been out of the seattle scene for a few
months now haven't kept up too well on the live
shows around here.
