Re: [Server-devel] Backup of XO 1.75 on XS 0.7
Hi, As I understand the question, he is asking about backing up the Journal (ds-backup.sh). In order for this to work, the XO must be registered with the server. Registration adds a user = serial-number and creates teh backup folder /library/user/serial-number. I do not have ejabberdctl errors now -I install from USB bypassing the olpcxs.ks file and using my full domain name (e.g. schoolsever.abc.org) to replace the default localhost.localdomain. Re: [Server-devel] Backup of XO 1.75 on XS 0.7
All this are working fine and the registration has created the necessary files in the XS 0.7 with the serial number, etc. Just that nothing seems to happen after a long wait after I done a force backup with ds-backup.sh I installed the older XS 0.6 to see if things work. Ejabberdctl work with normal installation and ds-backup.sh backup the files after some waiting! Will redo a XS 0.7 to recheck if I can replicate the issue again. -Original Message- From: Tony Anderson [mailto:tony_ander...@usa.net] Sent: Monday, March 11, 2013 12:14 AM To: server-devel@lists.laptop.org Subject: Re: [Server-devel] Backup of XO 1.75 on XS 0.7 Hi, As I understand the question, he is asking about backing up the Journal (ds-backup.sh). Re: [Server-devel] Backup of XO 1.75 on XS 0.7
Yes I am aware that setting the domain is different in the 0.6 0.7. Loading 0.6 everything seems to work - ejabberctl and ds-backup. I tried so MANY times to use the kickstart with 0.7 and after doing all the necessary configuration I get the error in ejabberd process - i.e. ejabberdctl connected-users will reveal errors. So I need to bypass the Kickstart. Now I am getting back to the old way - CD bootup instead of USB installation and see what happen. -Original Message- From: Sameer Verma [mailto:sve...@sfsu.edu] Sent: Monday, March 11, 2013 02:07 AM To: tkk...@nurturingasia.com Cc: server-devel@lists.laptop.org Subject: Re: [Server-devel] Backup of XO 1.75 on XS 0.7 On Sat, Mar 9, 2013 at 10:44 PM, tkk...@nurturingasia.com wrote: Yes.. that the way I installed the XX 0.6 in the past - the xs-setup abc.org will do the rest and it will appear as schoolserver.abc.org.
