I'm at work but I went out to the car and did this test and NO it didn't start with out pressing the gas pedal with the old regulator I never had this problem in fact I could start the car standing outside with my arm through the window, but sometimes it would run rough till I pressed the gas pedal and rev it up some. Now, If I turned the car off and tried to restart it, it will start without and gas pedal action. so now it might be a leaky injector? In a message dated 8/26/2011 9:59:18 A.M. You can tell if the fuel pressure is being lost by cycling the pump a few times before starting the car. Turn the key to ignition without engaging the starter and turn the key back to off three or four times right before starting the car. If it starts right up then pressure is, indeed, being lost by the FPR or the pump itself when the car sits. Simple and easy test, please let us know the results!
