any. CG, if you are going back to amersham, you'd be on the same line as I

Re: [silk] Sociolinguistic query

Baddi maga could mean son of prostitute.

HIjo de puta (lit. son of a whore but meaning approximately the
same as son of a bitch in english) is a very common Spanish curse.

That one exists in Portuguese too. It may have the same meaning as son of
a bitch, but is much more offensive.

In Brazil there is a related puta que o pariu, that turned into the handy
PQP and may be used almost in polite conversation as somewhere far away.

Puta also means very big or very important or very nice in
Brazilian Portuguese.

In Argentina they always use boludo and pelotudo. It is translatable as
something like big-balled and is very offensive.

[silk] The Bhansali Stork

2012-04-17 Thread Deepa Mohan
I am very happy to tell everyone that Vinit Bhansali and Surabhi Tomar
found a baby boy in a bed of rose petals on Sunday, April 15. The little
one, in Vinit's words, is so good-looking that we are wondering which
couple have left their baby with us.

Emailing them might be better than calling them, but it's up to each person.

Cheers, Deepa.

One day before, to be precise. One has to admire the kid's sense of timing.

One might come to the conclusion, that he wanted to be a part of the Silk
List having seen the meet up close. :)

Congrats Vinit and Surabhi.

Sharing some interesting news based on the SilkMeet from the 13th.
For people who were there and wondering why Surabhi disappeared halfway
through the evening ... She had just gone into labour!

Though it lasted longer and our baby Vir was only born on Sunday, I can
safely say that he did start kicking to get out during the SilkMeet (to
meet my wonderful SilkList friends)

So thanks SilkList for having this meet at our place and literally
kickstarting our baby's birth!
