[silk] decarbonising and other rituals

2010-08-10 Thread Abhijit Menon-Sen
Every time I take a car to a workshop for servicing, they seem to come
up with a new procedure that I've never heard of, and which costs the
best part of INR 1k.

Does anyone know if Maruti cars really need to be decarbonised every
10k kilometres or so? (How come my old 800 and Zen never needed it?)

has an active discussion on it.

If you do it - 15..20k kilometres is fine, though Maruti says their engines
just don't accumulate carbon so decarbing won't be necessary.
