I have had sinus problems for over 30 years. Sometimes I could hardly sleep because my nasal passages were so blocked up. I started using CS about 3 months ago. For the first week I sprayed it up my nose and I was able to sleep soundly. Nowadays I just use it if I get stuffed up before bedtime (which isn't very often now). It's been a godsend to me. I never did have those black bits though. Oh and it doesn't seem to have affected my mucous production either. If anything, it's clearer---and easier to blow my nose.
