MA ** *Mary Ann- the ceramic heat emitter is in the 4th category on this webpage- http://www.petdiscounters.com/Heaters-Lamps-and-Bulbs-c26.html It is a metal coil embedded in ceramics. I've had several for several years and have not had one break or burn out. I buy a fixture locally that is a metal hood with a crossbar and ceramic socket (a must because of the heat). I try to have the crossbar in touch with my body, with cotton cloth in between, no synthetics since they can melt if they should contact the emitter. It is a little tricky figuring out how to hold it where I want it. I heat the spot for as long as I can, results have been even miraculous, as once when I had bad neck pains when barely moving my head with numbing sensations, and I lay with the emitter over my neck for a couple of hours, and all pain and discomfort ceased and didn't return. I would imagine it was as though the heat relaxed the tendons and ligaments and helped them return to a normal position. The rib took a while to heal, 4 weeks for pain to cease and 8 weeks for a pulling sensation to cease. I had some pain along my vertebrae too, and that also ceased, but I've been doing some heavy yard work the last day or so and did have some upper back pain recur so used the heat emitter some. I've had lots of good experience with infrared ceramic heat emitters. The ones I've used were like a light bulb made of a coil covered with ceramics, and must go in a ceramic screw-in base. They are sold as reptile warmers. Using one for a hour or more has permanently fixed a very bad neck, and I used it to heal from a broken rib and from back pain. It shuts off pain signals and also causes ligaments and tendons to relax and get back into the right alignment for me. Other things that have helped me have been LED red (660 nm) and infrared (880 nm) lights, and neodymium magnets. Nancy - Original Message - From: Misc.
