I was using a product made by Continental Packaging out of Richmond B.C. It was ok.. Available at Central drugs.. They jacked the price up, so I bought a Sears Distiller, and now make my own.. Thrifty foods also sells reverse osmosis in bulk, and it usually measures less than 2u/s so it would be ok also and cheap..I used it a few times and it seemed ok..If you had a PWT you could try different brands and you would know what was acceptable.. Just for the heck of it I filled my Colloid Master with RO water to see how it would react. The unit wouldn't even start with the PPM setting cranked to its maximum because the conductivity of our RO water exceeds that of any strength of CS the Colloid Master is capable of making. I got tired of schlepping jugs of DW and ended up buying a distiller and making DW with the RO water; the resulting DW gives a .6 -.8 reading on the Hanna PWT, and the RO water leaves very little residue in the bottom of the distiller. -- John A. Re: CSpure distilled water
Sylvie: The process of steam distilling removes enough contaminants (Minerals) etc. to make water acceptable.. Acceptable , according to the List Gurus is a Conductivity reading BELOW 2 u/s.. ( u/s ) is a measure of conductivity as measured with a PWT... ( PWT ) is an electronic instrument for measuring Conductivity.. The less the conductivity of the water the better, means less GUNK etc. in the water, less PPM of foreign material the better.. 5/2/02 11:30 AM sylvie hargraft If there are any canadians on the list, I would like to know what brand of distilled water you are using to make your cs, as well as where you get it. I'm not Canadian, but you will find high quality water at Walgreens Drugs if they are up there. Jack -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
