I followed this: https://docs.slackware.com/howtos:general_admin:setting_up_a_slackware_chroot Basically you can simply do installpkg --root /chroot-folder */*.t?z and all folders will be fine. The wiki doc is for creating 32bit chroot under 64bit system but you can simply install 64bit packages instead of 32bit and you will be fine. For network connection, you need to link /etc/resolv.conf rtp /chroot/etc/resolv.conf and you can use slackpkg to keep it up to date as well. I use chroot to test new scripts or updates regularly. Chroot wont help you. Kernel is still 64 bit and there are differences between running under 32 bit and 64 bit kernels. The second best way is to create a full 32 bit installation under an emulator. The best way is of course having a 32 bit slackware installed on a partition and booting into it. But emulator is the second best thing and will do. NOt having hardware also adds to this. Debian already at the edge of dropping 32 bit. Wine also started working on making 32 bit libs work using 64 bit versions using trunking (pretty much how MS did their multi lib system with Windows on Windows). We are close to end of an era now. Hello All, I was looking into how I can get those two installed together. [Slackbuilds-users] Updates on -current
HeyAll, I checked out my packages on -current and here's the status: splint - broken compile. pychm - built fine. There's couple of patches upstream prelink - built fine. mkvtoolnix - built fine with the latest version. Version bump was waiting for -current anyway. QT5 included in -current now. libupnp and libupnpn-legacy built fine. liboop built fine libebml built fine libmatroska built fine kildclient built fine. Version bump to 3.2.0 possible but it needs gtkspell3 gsnmp built fine gnet built fine fortune-ASR built fine. (I graduated from university 12 years ago but the link still works. I don't remember my password. Good thing there is no need for an update.) chm2pdf built fine boncuk it needs QT4. Patches to build with QT5. It's not updated for a long time. As I read, it just needs fixing headers. I will give it a try. If it works, I fork a copy to my gitlab account. chatbot-Eliza built fine aMule - built fine. Also there's a new release and it's built fine. I don't really use amule anymore. Any users? bootchard - built fine and I charted my -current boot. cldr- built fine iBus-Anthy built fine but its development stuck. Re: [Slackbuilds-users] Script licensing
2012/11/17 Audrius Kažukauskas audr...@neutrino.lt: Hello, According to notes in SBo SlackBuild templates, Public Domain scripts are no longer allowed: A license is required, and we strongly suggest you use the above BSD/MIT style license. We DO NOT accept Public Domain scripts. Public domain is not valid in some countries, and no license is worse than a bad license in those countries. I saw this coming when first I wrote ibus-anthy script. At a later update I added this: # This script is in public domain. If this is not legally possible # I grant anyone the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, # unless such conditions are required by law. It's from Wikipedia. They use it for Public Domain works of their own. I don't know if it is acceptable by Admins. Later I moved to BSD/MIT Style licensing. Because any license is better than no license. -- Ozan, BSc, BEng ___ SlackBuilds-users mailing list SlackBuilds-users@slackbuilds.org http://lists.slackbuilds.org/mailman/listinfo/slackbuilds-users Archives - http://lists.slackbuilds.org/pipermail/slackbuilds-users/ FAQ - http://slackbuilds.org/faq/
