Thanks Zeus. Is 2.2 stable and I have never build a code using svn. I would
need some help to do it.

I believe Slide 2.1 does not compile with JDK 1.5.

Get Slide 2.2 from the SVN, it compiles fine with JDK1.5. I have 2.2 on
Eclipse and runs smoothly.

If you want 2.1 then change to JDK 1.4

Thanks for the valuable input, Zeus. I am planning a custom store for now it's
a Filestore. Any inputs that you think would be helpful for a starter. Thanks
once again for the help.

Hi Sukhvir,

Yup...Slide 2.2 is pretty stable. I have been using it over a year with both
stores: FileStore and RDBMS Stores.
It is still in a pre-release phase: Slide 2.2pre.

You can get it at the following url:
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/jakarta/slide/trunk/

Note that you need SVN, don't just click the link above :-)

SVN is a tool that is used to pull files from a repository.
You can get the tool at:
http://subversion.tigris.org/downloads/

If you have a windows machine then the tool you would download is:
http://subversion.tigris.org/downloads/subversion-1.4.3.zip

unzip it and install it...very easy to do.

Then run the tool from the command prompt giving it the URL I gave u above to
pull the code.

The code will be pulled and saved on the path that u provided in your local
machine.

There are a lot of files...will take some time. You will be pulling a lot of
unnecessary code like Tamino's WebDAV, testsuite and so on.
If you don't have the Tamino database then the Tamino WebDAV code is worthless
and if you don't plan on developing or changing the code then the testsuites
may not be helpful but anyway...

Then just put the code in Eclipse and you should be good to go. Make sure u
also have the correct version of Tomcat...I have it running under Tomcat v5.5.23

---

On the other hand, just change the Build Path on Eclipse to point to a JDK 1.4
so that your Slide 2.1 code will compile. :-)

Regards,

Zeus
