[SLUG] Static Routes under Fedora Core 4

2006-01-23 Thread Howard Lowndes
Can anyone point me to the correct location and syntax for the file
describing static routes under FC4.

It used to be /etc/sysconfig/static-routes but I believe that has been
deprecated, but I don't know what to..

Re: [SLUG] Re; tv setup

2006-01-23 Thread Bill

Hi Michael

Haven't bothered trying to boot/install any distros since my lasy post
where I stated tht I tried Suse 10, Knoppix 4 and Mandriva 2006 DVDs, all
of which failed to boot or to complete the install process. Just installed
Kanotix 2005.4 Final LiveCd which does work with this particular PC.

Since your email I have installed ( after Googling to get working
repositories for sources.list in Synaptic) MPlayer and MythTV.

MPLayer works fine and MythTV has a problem re denying my user access which
I think is probably related to my Network Card config.

Sorry if my post was confusing. Will try to be more precise in future.

By the way, my card is a Fusion Plus and I'm happier with it under Kanotix
than under XP, at least so far :)

Bill

So after all that did you get it working on a distro other then
Kanotix as I am a little confused by your post.

I had a DVICO Fusion Plus card and wasn't overly impressed with it.
Although it did certainly work fairly okay on Windows, just not crash
hot on linux.

Table 1: user

I want to delete records from the user-preferences table based on a

The table can be joined from user.id=user_preferences_userid

With MySQL v3 there is no multi table delete nor subqueries. You have to
do it in multiple statements or upgrade to at least v4 of MySQL.

delete from user_preferences where user.id in (select user.id from user
where department=2000);

This works in PostgreSQL, or does MySQL still not have sub-selects - one
reason (the other being transaction processing) why I chose PGSQL over
MySQL many years ago. [ RDW from database flame war :) ]

I assume by "connect to the Ubuntu forum", you mean you are trying to access
www.ubuntuforums.org on port 80. :)

It's working for me at the moment, but it was timing out on me on Sunday night
when other things were still working.

Anyone know if there's a problem with the site?
