It's gone. The '-' sign is a relic of T-Bird 2.x.

No little '-' is displayed anywhere on the page that I can see. (Yes
there is the issue of whether I'm blind, but I reckon it ain't there).

Yeah XFCE is great but don't expect GUI network share file browsing
(at least last time I used it)
I use it on MythBuntu and it's great cos it's just so light but
lacking in some features.

Have you tried Xfce? I've been using it for a few months now, and GNOME

 Steven thanks for the hint
 I did:

That works - yahoo, but why is so obvious a thing so hidden? google shows

Really? That's interesting.

It's no longer there in my 3.0.4 (on OS X) nor my wife's (Win 7).

We are talking about the reading pane aren't we? In the main UI.
Whether you're using tabbed reading or not.

Kind Regards

[SLUG] Telstra USB wireless internet

2010-06-03 Thread Ben Donohue

Hi all,

I'm fixing a pc for someone.

Their MS windows got horribly virus infected after being on the internet
for a short while with their new Telstra USB wireless stick.

I'm thinking of loading some Linux distro but if the Telstra USB
wireless has no drivers etc. then there is no point really and they will
want internet back so that would mean windows again.

Before I go loading Linux, anyone have any experience with a Telstra USB
wireless dongle... no cable or adsl... it's just a USB stick... working
with Linux?

Thanks.
Ben

Got it working on Karmic no major problems.
Apparently it's even easier on Lucid, just plug and play.

Hi;

I used to use modeswitching,
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1147685; however this failed
to work.
I have however, had to connect to the Telstra USB and disable the
Virtual cdrom drive now, and it works almost flawlessly.
