Saw this on Twitter, and thought that there might be some open source volunteers among the SLUG membership interested:
'Bridging the Gap' think tank Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (GMT+1000) The aim of this event is to 'bridge the gap' between NGOs, government groups and the open source volunteer community. The intention is for members of groups such as Ushahidi, Open Street Map and CrisisCommons to meet and connect with members of the Red Cross, State Emergency Services and Police and Fire Services, so that in a time of crisis the open source community can connect quickly with these crisis responders to assist in delivering tools that they can use; as an example, to help run information/call centres. Location is UNSW.
