[SLUG] Mythtv and capture cards

2007-06-03 Thread Steven Tucker

Hi all,
I know there are some slugers out there using mythtv and I wanted to know
the best capture card for the job.
I have a cheap analogue card I got for free, but the picture is very low
quality.
Im not worried if its expensive, I just want the job done right.
The cheapo has a bt878 conexant chipset which is supported but I would
be less inclined to use another one given the performance of this card.

I have mythtv set up and its great, just need a better card

Whats is everyone using?
Out of the box support would be pretty kewl too!

I use a fusion DTV card, you can go to

www.digitalnow.com.au (I think that's right) they advise you if you
can use the cards with linux.

it comes down to what you want. What I have found is with recent
revisions of the kernel and linuxtv's DTV code I can no longer watch

2 channels at a time :( Now I am forced to use a dual card.

just make sure you know what chipset you have.

actually I do not use bt878 I think it's now bt8xx
