This brings up and interesting point and I'm not trying to start any distro religious wars but might it not be a bad idea to have our own "official distro advocates/evangelists" Maybe someone for each distro (well most of the more prominent ones anyway) in an identifying t-shirt or the like that can be available to "inform" the newbies as far as any specific distro questions. Say if someone wanted to know what the configuration of Debian was like compared to Slackware he/she might go to talk to both the Slackware "person" and the Debian "person" and compare what each had to say.. I realise The idea isn't perfect and could probably be worked on or tuned up but it was just a thought.. Absolutely! We want to do this for the Installfest. :) I'm writing a call for talks right now, but the idea is that the distro-specific people get to do a mini-presentation to promote the best features of their chosen distro, then everyone knows who they are and can tackle them for the tough questions. Not quite as I had in mind but I think it will accomplish the same thing.. Only some people who might otherwise do the job might be put off by the having the give a talk idea..
