Hi Mark,

Is this a Joyent Public Cloud instance? If so, please open a support ticket
at supp...@joyent.com

nginx is not enabled, but goes into maintenance when enabled. The reason
turned out to be that no value is specified for worker_processes. Once that
 is set, nginx will start.

I can't get Wordpress to load though. I can see that the software in
installed under /home/wordpress/wordpress but http://x.x.x.x just goes to
the default nginx page and http://x.x.x.x/wordpress/wordpress/index.php
just gives a 404 error. If anyone has used this image, can you help me with
what I need to do next to continue configuring Wordpress? The Joyent
documentation indicates it should load at this point and I think it's just
 a small configuration I'm missing.

 Thanks,

Re: [smartos-discuss] Wordpress instance

2014-10-30 Thread Daniel Malon via smartos-discuss
Hi,

the image uses some values that are always present in the JPC/SDC instances to
calculate values for the nginx config for example.

One of those is the cpu_cap which will be used to get the actual available
cores from the kstats and then inserted into the config for worker_processes.

So if this is ‘missing’ for you my guess is that you have created a zone
without specifying a cpu_cap.

It would be nicer if it would default to 1 if this value can’t be computed tho.

Re: [smartos-discuss] Keyboard Issues

2014-10-30 Thread Warren Marts via smartos-discuss
There are BIOS settings for things like Legacy USB and such. The one I
mentioned should be off for any OS that has a USB driver.

 No, not usb3.

Also interestingly, same keyboard and same usb stick work perfectly in a
 different machine.

I'm going to try a ps2 keyboard (when I find one at the museum).

 Thanks,

Any ideas? I’ve tried several different keyboards, all with the same lack
 of luck.

 Isn't not USB3 perchance?
