RE: [RCSE] Which JR 3421- Metal or nylon gear ?
The metal gears are stronger, especially when dealing with shock loads. But the nylon gears have less slop and stay tight longer. It's the only servo I've had fail on 5 cells - an older servo. If you are contesting with a skeg you may want the MG version. RE: [RCSE] Re: Programming tricks help
Ah, Yes, I thought that way [mixing with your brain] for a while. But once you start flying at the limit of vision it is very difficult to see if your inputs are anywhere near correct. Set up properly, it is much better to let the radio handle the mixing. It's easy enough to put it on a switch to turn it off when you do not want or need the mixing. Kerry > The thermal mode has about 3 degrees of camber, lots of ail>rud > coupling, a bit of up elevator preset, and about the same differential > as the speed mode. Now this is very interesting. Someone with a much lower AMA number than mine used preach to me that real pilots don't us ail>rud coupling. They learn how to fly properly with both thumbs. So now I've wasted all those years trying to learning how to fly with both thumbs for nothing? ;-) In reality, I suspect most of the best pilots use a combination of coupling and two thumb flying. RE: [RCSE] Loss of airplane, and - how to find it
Hopefully you'll be able to open this link. The ESL has been using this system for a long time and it seems expensive - until the first time you need one. http://forums.flyesl.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=95 Kerry > > > DIRECTIONAL!! > > > > Anything that transmits a signal from the plane and could > be received > > directionally would be priceless. > > > > Bill Swingle > > RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. [RCSE] Mosquitoes
Good info for the summer. OK, mosquitos... prepare to be repelled! Use Bounce Fabric Softener Sheets...Best thing ever used in Louisiana..just wipe on & go...Great for Babies Bob, a fisherman, takes one vitamin B-1 tablet a day April through October He said it works. He was right. Hasn't had a mosquito bite in 33 years. Try it. Every one he has talked into trying it works on them. Vitimin B-1( Thiamine Hydrochloride 100 mg.) If you eat bananas, the mosquitos like you, - something about the banana oil as your body processes it. Stop eating bananas for the summer and the mosquitos will be much less interested. This is going to floor you, but one of the best insect repellents someone found (who is in the woods every day), is Vick's Vaporub. Plant marigolds around the yard, the flowers give off a smell that bugs do not like, so plant some in that garden also to help ward off bugs without using insecticides. "Tough guy" Marines who spend a great deal of time "camping out" say that the very best mosquito repellant you can use is Avon Skin-So-Soft bath oil mixed about half and half with alcohol. One of the best natural insect repellants that I've discovered is made from the clear real vanilla. This is the pure Vanilla that is sold in Mexico. It works great for mosquitoes and ticks, don't know about other insects. When all else fails--get a frog Fight West Nilepass this along to all your friends in skeeter land!!! RE: [RCSE] HiTec/ Futaba
HiTec makes PCM? I've only seen PPM aka FM from HiTec. Your Futaba will run the HiTec FM receivers. PCM receivers require you to use RX's from the same mfg. as the TX because all the PCM techniques are unique. Kerry I have a Hi Tec PCM receiver and an 8U tranny. Shouldn't it work with my 8u assuming I have the tranny set to PCM Regards,Perry RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
