ReachLocal Launches Trio Of Products, Targets Home Services
----
Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal said today that it has launched three,
brand new services today, including a new website focused on the
booking of home services. The new products are part of a push by the
company to expand the services it offers to small and medium sized
businesses, beyond its roots in helping those firms advertise their

OpenX Adds Japanese Investor
----
Los Angeles-based OpenX Software has a new investor, the firm said
today, Japanese company cyber communications, inc. According to OpenX,
cyber communications, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dentsu
Inc., joined in providing additional financing in the company's Series
E round. OpenX said it has now raised more than $75M in funding.

CraveOnline Sharpens Focus With Relaunch
----
Los Angeles-based Evolve Media announced today tha/ it has relaunched
CraveOnline, its flagship, male-oriented website. According to Crave,
it has split the site into five categories, Entertainment, Gaming,
Sports, Music, and Life & Style. The firm said the redesign would help
keep its visitors engaged. CraveOnline also said it has added targeted
content on the site which is contextually relevant to visitors, and
also help marketers reach users. The changes look to also have been
structured to help the company integrate brand messaging into its
site--the company said the new categories also help it integrate brand
messages into the online lifestyle site.

Viddy Chops Staff
----
Venice-based mobile video app developer Viddy has cut one third of its
staff, the firm said Monday. The cuts of 12 employees come shortly
after the company's board parted ways with its co-founder and CEO,
Brett O'Brien. According to Viddy, in a statement, the move came to
"streamline costs" and now gives it the "right team" to execute on
moving forward. Viddy has been undergoing some turmoil, as the firm
has seen an increasing amount of competition from others looking to be
the Instagram of video; the firm also suffered from an over-hyped
launch last year.

Esri Expands Map Data
----
Redlands-based GIS software maker Esri announced a deal Monday to
expand the amount of aerial imagery available for the firm's ArcGIS
software, via a deal with satellite imagery firm DigitalGlobe. Esri
said the deal adds more than 10 million square kilometers of high
resolution, aerial viewing to its free ArcGIS World IMagery map
service. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Esri's
software is very widely used for geographical information systems
(GIS), and in overlaying data and information on top of maps.

Ixia Targets LTE Testing
----
Calabasas-based network testing equipment developer Ixia said today
that it is targeting the LTE testing market, with its Ixia IxLoad
product. According to Ixia, it is looking to help mobile carriers
maintain and safeguard their network infrastructure, by allowing those
providers to prototype those real-world networks in the lab. Ixia
develops a wide range of network testing software and hardware
products. The firm has been offering up LTE testing tools for awhile,
since it acquired LTE testing equipment firm Catapult Communications
in 2009.

Fandango Ties With Telemundo On Hispanic Movie Hub
----
Los Angeles-based movie ticketing and information site Fandango has
tied with Spanish language broadcaster Telemundo, to launch a new
online site aimed at Hispanic movie fans, Fandango Cine, the two
announced Monday. The companies said the new site will offer up
movie-related content in Spanish, movie show times, ticketing, and
other information across telemundo.com, mun2.tv, and fandango.com.
Financial details of the link between the two firms were not
disclosed.

Robotoki Nabs Funding For Zombie Apocalyse Game
----
Robotoki, a Los Angeles-based game developer headed by Robert Bowling,
formerly working on Call of Duty, has raised a funding round from
NEXON Co., Nexon said Monday. Financial details of the investment were
not announced. Bowling is the former Creative Strategist for Call of
Duty. Nexon said the investment will go towards developing games based
on Robotoki's multi-screen, cross-platform games.

DataPop Launches New Semantic Advertising Product
----
Los Angeles-based online advertising technology provider DataPop, the
startup led by Jason Lehmbeck, announced Monday morning that it has
launched a new semantic advertising product specifically aimed at
Google Product Listing Ads (PLA). Google's Product Listing Ads are
Google's ad option which lets companies include product images,
pricing, and other details in online ads. According to DataPop, its
new product extracts relevant information from a retailer's product
feeds, and uses that to present advertisements to customers.
