his own coworking space, he's also created a new venture capital fund,
the Launch Fund. According to a regulatory filing, Calacanis is
raising $10.0M for the fund, which he said is being funded by himself,
David Sacks, and one or two other LPS. Calacanis said the fund will go
to focus on funding companies out of his series of LAUNCH festivals.

DriveCam Wins Cement Hauling Fleet Operator
----
The next time you're stuck behind a big, lumbering concrete truck, you
just might be a little safer, thanks to San Diego-based driving
monitoring product developer DriveCam. DriveCam said today that it has
scored a win with TXI, which runs a fleet of ready-mix concrete
trucks, and aggregate hauling and cement hauling vehicles. According
to DriveCam, TXI is rolling out its products across all of its fleet,
after a period testing DriveCam in its fleet, and seeing a "dramatic"
reduction in claims. DriveCam's systems provide both driving data and
video to help monitor fleet drivers, which helps both with better
safety and better fuel efficiency. TXI is a cement supplier in Texas,
with major operations in California.

Zynga Details Job Cuts
----
San Francisco-based Zynga has detailed the cuts at the company, saying
it has laid off approximately 520 employees, or 18 percent of its
global workforce. Those cuts have resulted in the shutdown of Zynga's
Los Angeles office. Zynga is also cutting its Dallas and New York
operations as part of the move. Zynga said the moves will save it an
estimated $70M to $80M in pre-tax, annualized cash expenses. The move
comes as Zynga said it expects a net loss in the range of $39 million
to $28.5 million, and that it is expected booking to be in the "lower
half" of its outlook range. Zynga blamed the cuts and losses on
"underperforming" games.

SpaceX Test Fires New Rocket
----
Hawthorne-based SpaceX, the commercial rocket and spacecraft firm
headed by tech mogul Elon Musk, has just fired off a test on a new,
Falcon 9 rocket. According to Musk, in a tweet, the firm just had its
first firing of its Falcon 9-R advanced prototype rocket, which has
over 1 million pounds of thrust, enough to "life a skyscraper". The
firing this morning by SpaceX is part of a series of tests SpaceX has
been running on its rockets on its new, more powerful Merlin 1D
engines--for use on the upcoming Falcon Heavy.

Zynga Layoffs Hit LA Office
----
A widespread layoff at social games maker Zynga has hit Los Angeles,
with around 55 employees being let go from the location, according to
tweets from the company's employees. It appears that Zynga is closing
its entire LA operation, according to reports. Overall, it appears
Zynga is laying off 20 percent of its worldwide staff. The move is
not surprising, given the wholesale departure of Zynga executives who
have jumped ship to Los Angeles based videogame developer Scopely, to
cloud storage firm Nirvanix, and others in the last few months.

investment firm in Southeast Asia, which is looking to invest in and
create e-commerce and digital media companies in the Southeast Asia
region. According to Ardent Capital, it received its first, external
