Amazon Studios Options Another Comedy Series
----
Amazon Studios, the content production arm of Amazon.com, said Monday
that it has optioned another comedy series. Amazon said that it has

Adam Cayton-Holland, and Benjamin Roy, the writers behind the web
series The Grawlix. Amazon has been in the process of optioning
different content projects, which it intends to turn into original
content for its streaming video service. The firm set up shop recently
in Los Angeles as part of those efforts.

San Diego-based Reflexion Health, a new startup using Microsoft's

at that data center can shift that data to its other locations, on a

Unusual Perk For SoCal Technology Firm: Unlimited, Paid Vacation
----
In what might be one of the more unusual perks for a Southern
California high tech company, LRN, a developer of enterprise
compliance and ethics software, has an unlimited, paid vacation
policy. The firm's policy recently came to light in a WSJ article. The
firm--which looks to be recruiting Java Developers, project managers,
and UX/UI designers in its LA location--apparently lets employees take
off as much time as they feel like they need, as one of the perks for
working for the company. The benefit is unusual in what often seems to
be an always-on, always-working, go-go environment in the Silicon
Beach startup community. LRN--which is around the corner from
UCLA--serves such customers as 3M, Dow, Johnson & Johnson, Loews,
Pfizer and Siemens.

The Resumator Gets $2.1M From Rincon
----
Rincon Venture Partners, the Santa Barbara-based venture capital fund
run by Jim Andelman, John Greathouse, and Brian Kelly, has led the
investment in a developer of social recruiting software tools for
companies, The Resumator. According to Resumator, the Series B round
was led by Birchmere Ventures, Rincon Venture Partners and
Salesforce.com, and also included Innovation Works and ff Venture
Capital. Resumator develops social media recruiting tools, which helps
startups find and recruit employees. Resumator is unusual in that it
is located in Pittsburgh, PA--Rincon tends to make mostly Southern
California investments. Rincon led a $700,000 Series A round in 2011
in The Resumator.

Adhesive Games Gets $18M For Massively Multiplayer Game
----
Adhesive Games, the Alhambra-based, independent game publishing studio
which is part of Meteor Entertainment has just scored a big, $18M
funding round from Rustic Canyon Partners, Chinese game publisher
KongZhong, and others to help bring its first title to market, Hawken.
Hawken is a first person shooter, combat-based massively multiplayer
online game focused on mechanized combat. According to Meteor
Entertainment, the funding included Rustic Canyon, KonZhong, FirstMark
Capital, and Benchmark Capital. The funding from Rustic Canyon looks
to have been led by Nate Redmond; Mitch Lasky, who made his name here
in Los Angeles in founding JAMDAT, is also involved with the firm via
Benchmark Capital. Adhesive and Meteor are looking to launch Hawken in
December. Alhambra is a suburb of Los Angeles, just south of Pasadena.

4G coverage, without a monthly contract or fees. FreedomPop is
providing free, 4G wireless data, with up to 500MB of free 4G wireless
Internet every month, along with premium, higher limit plans. The
