[soft_radio] Re: Question on 192Khz soundcards
Every better Creative Card (incl. Soundblaster Audigy SE for about 20 â¬) It's a while ago that I did the aforementioned buy - test cycle. There are some variations to Aufigy SE cards. But I definitely remember to have had a card here at home where it was possible to switch to 96 kc sampling rate. But the input anti alias filter remained at 20 kc. I did not however search for any additional tools beside what I found on the CD supplied with the card. I assume that most people wil use these cards for sound (in the strict sense). So they don't hear anything above 20 kc anyway. But the noise floor will increase if you widen the filter. This in turn looks bad in the Hi Fi tests Walter
[soft_radio] Re: elektor sdr mirror frequency rejection
Hallo Peter, with which soundcard did You get the result of nearly 60 dB? Let me guess. That was an example using exactly one frequency. You can tweak phase an amplitude for -60 dB as demonstrated. But for real life we need hi supression for a span of frequencies. ?? Walter
[soft_radio] Re: elektor sdr mirror frequency rejection (EMU-1212M)
The hardware does not have the limits you describe, Hi James I should have made clear that I was talking 'in general'. The card I bought was some different brand. I don't remember which one. Sorry, Walter
