Some characters are searchable

Hi,

I am trying to search the following characters present through solr.

`, @, #, $, %, _ , , , .

But I am not getting any result back, even if those characters are present in 
the document .
So my question is are these characters getting indexed?

Not with the default-analyzers.
But certainly with a whitespaceanalyzer.
